2003 Campaign: Days of Caring
October 20th-25th
Days of Caring is a community-wide event that connects volunteers with United Way Program Providers and other local health and human service organizations to promote volunteerism through community service. This year, Days of Caring will begin on October 20th and end on National Make a Difference Day, October 25th.
United Way of Midland is once again partnering with local businesses to make Days of Caring a truly community focused event. We are asking local business to encourage their employees to volunteer a few hours of their time for projects such as; painting, gardening, repairing classrooms, working with children, and delivering meals to the elderly. This experience allows volunteers to witness first-hand how donated dollars meet the needs of our community through health and human service organizations.
Please consider joining us for Days of Caring 2003. Its a minimal time commitment; the work performed is very much needed and is for the betterment of our community. Through volunteering, you can help Untied Way program providers and other local health and human service organizations continue serving over 30,000 Midlanders every year.
For information or to participate in Days of Caring, contact Alison King (email aking@uwmidland.org). Deadline to participate is Friday, October 10th. United Way will match volunteers with a community project at one of our 23 program providers or other health and human service organization at your request. If your business is already involved in a community volunteer project during the week of October 20th through October 25th, please let us know so that we can include you in our promotion of community-wide volunteering and generous community spirit that makes us proud to call Midland our home.
If you are a health and human service organization and would like to let us know of a project you need completed during October 20-25, please contact Darrell Benton (email dbenton@uwmidland.org).
