2004 Campaign Highlights
This years campaign ran from September 7th through November 3rd, 2004. The 2004 Campaign Chair was Ron Mullins. Read his introductory message about the 2004 Campaign here.
Campaign Finale:
United Way of Midland surpassed 2004 Campaign Goal of $3.1 million by $921!
Campaign Chair Ron Mullins, with the help of the Loaned Executives, announced the $3,100,921 total raised for the 2004 United Way of Midland Campaign at the "Finish Line" Finale Event on Wednesday, November 3rd. With over 300 friends and supporters of Midland in attendance, Mr. Mullins made it clear that it took numerous volunteers, United Way staff, campaign cabinet, past campaign chairs, and many others to stretch past the campaign goal.

Pure Resources' "PURE and Partners Fore the United Way" Golf Tournament took place on October 25th at Ranchland Hills Country Club. This is the second year in a row for Pure to organize a charity gold tournament for United Way of Midland. This year's event raised $30,500; increasing last year's amount by over $5,000!

Burlington Resources & Halliburton's 3rd Annual Bustin' Clay for United Way of Midland
The 3rd Annual 2004 Bustin' Clay for United Way Clay Shoot took place Friday, August 27th at Windwalker Farms Sporting Complex. This year's event goal of $30,000 was surpassed by over $10,000 thanks to our great sponsors, volunteers and over 300 participants!

Key Energy's "Let it Ride" Casino Night
Key Energy Services, Inc. hosted a "Let it Ride" Casino Night and Live Auction in the ClayDesta Atrium on October 28th. Proceeds benefited United Way of Midland.
With numerous game tables and friendly volunteer "dealers" a gambling good time was had by all who attended.

Dine-Out Days for United Way Raffle
Local Midland restaurants donated gift certificates for dinner for 4 to help raise money for United Way of Midland. Tickets were sold during the campaign, providing the chance to win dinner for 4 at 13 local restaurants. That's over $600 in gift certificates! The winning ticket holder won by purchasing a Dine Out Days for United Way Raffle ticket.

Fun & Friendly Hospital Competition - Winner Announced
Midland Memorial Hospital Director & CEO Russell Meyers (photo, left) and Nurse Manager Michelle Feavel, along with United Way of Midland staff and volunteers, talked with MMH employees on Wednesday, September 15th to encourage them to give to United Way of Midland and challenge them to give as much or more than other area hospital employees.
Mr. Meyers also informed his staff of a friendly competition between Midland Memorial Hospital, Odessa Medical Center Hospital, Odessa Regional Hospital, Alliance Hospital (Odessa) and HealthSouth (Midland & Odessa) to see which employee group has the "healthiest" participation in supporting our communities through United Way.

Each hospital is working to grow community involvement and awareness of their employees through this per capita giving based competition.
The Director of the hospital with the highest employee per capita giving at the end of the competition will receive an extreme "makeover" by Midland's own Greenie the clown. This makeover will be viewed by the winning employee group at their finale celebration. Additionally, the winning Director and his/her guests will be served lunch in their home cafeteria by the Directors of each of the remaining participation hospitals.

Update!
We are proud to announce Midland Memorial Hospital and CEO Russell Meyers as the winning hospital and Director.
As the winning hospital director, Mr. Meyers will receive an extreme "makeover" by Midland's own Greenie the clown. In addition to the makeover, Mr. Meyers will be served lunch in the hospital cafeteria by the Directors of the other participating hospitals. These events will take place in late November or early December.
