Secure online donations via credit card...United Way of Midland is working to advance the common good by focusing on education, self-sufficiency and health. These are the building blocks for a good life - a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.

Our goal is to create long-lasting changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place.

We invite you to be a part of the change. Together, united, we can inspire hope and create opportunities for a better tomorrow.

That’s what it means to LIVE UNITED.

United Way Announces Funded Programs for 2008-2009 and Thanks Volunteers

United Way of Midland received a total of 56 applications for 2008-2009 program funding from 25 local non-profits. These requests amounted to 2.8 million dollars. From March through May, over 50 Community Investment Panel volunteers met to review the funding applications, make on-site visits with the program providers, and then met again to make recommendations for funding. The final recommendations were voted on by the United Way of Midland Board of Directors on May 22.

Community Investment Chair, Jayne Krawietz, announced the programs receiving funding. For a complete listing of programs, click here.

Lifetime Gifts Matter
United Way of Midland’s commitment to care for our community continues far beyond the needs of this year or this generation. An endowed or planned gift to United Way is an investment in our future. Planned gifts assure that we will continue making Midland strong and healthy for our children and our grandchildren. Your generosity to future generations can also benefit you and your family. Most planned gifts result in immediate tax deductions, estate tax savings and some result in investment income for the donor. But most importantly, your gift ensures that your compassion makes a difference today and extends beyond tomorrow.
Investing in Midland’s Future
Your gift enables United Way to maintain a margin of excellence in what it does best: assessing community needs and providing community solutions, by addressing root causes. For more information on how you can leave a legacy through a planned gift, please contact Cynthia Benson or Kathye Taylor at 432-685-7700 at the United Way of Midland.
