Midland County received $50,236 to supplement local emergency food and shelter programs from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Learn about the approved FEMA programs
Applications for FEMA funds from local, qualifying programs were accepted by United Way at the end of January. A local board made up of representatives from different religious organizations and service agencies met to review the applications, totaling $108,340, and determine which programs would receive funding. The approved programs are below, along with the designated FEMA category and the allocation amount.
- Area Missions Outreach Services (Food - Other) - $1,800
- Community & Senior Services (Food - Served Meals) - $3,000
- Hellinghausen Hope, Inc. (Shelter-Mass) - $2,500
- Helping Hands of Midland (Utilities) - $15,200
- Midland Fair Havens, Inc. (Shelter - Mass) - $4,200
- Safe Place of the Permian Basin (Shelter - Mass) - $6,000
- St. Vincent de Paul, St. Ann's Conference (Shelter - Rent) - $4,200
- St. Vincent De Paul of the Permian Basin (Food - Other) - $5,000
- The Salvation Army (Shelter - Mass) - $5,000
- The Salvation Army (Food - Served Meals) - $3,000
- United Way of Midland, Inc. (Administrative) - $36
