Through United Way of Midland You've Invested in After-School Programs & Skills Development
Three of United Way of Midland's 60 currently funded programs are provided by the Boys and Girls Club of Midland. United Way helps Boys and Girls Club offer After-School, Summer Day Camp, and sports programs.
Cashena has been going to the After-School and Summer Day Camp program for 8 years. During this time, she gained interest in the Basketball program where she has developed much of her skills as a player. The club also teaches the importance of education and because of this, Cashena has kept her grades up and is paving her way to attend college. Prior to this program, Cashena was at home playing with her two sisters and had never picked up a basketball. "If it had not been for the club, I would not have started playing basketball. I would probably be sitting at home today."
Cashena is sophomore at Lee High School and is optimistic that she and her teammates will be state champions this season!
Your United Way contribution is an investment in programs that help kids succeed.
