New officers, board members to be elected at United Way of Midland annual meeting; donor awards, other recognitions to be given
October 15, 2002 - Midland, TX The United Way of Midland will conduct its 2002 Campaign Finale, Tuessday, October 29, 2002, at The Midland Center, 501 W. Wall, in Downtown Midland. The finale is from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Local attorney Mary Lou Cassidy will be named to succeed outgoing president Zahir Noormohamed as president of the volunteer-run organization. Cassidy is a lawyer with the firm of Stubbeman, McCrae, Sealy, Loughlin and Brouder, and a longtime United Way volunteer. Noormahomed, a Midland CPA, has also served in numerous volunteer capacities within the organization.
New board members and officers will be installed, and awards will be presented to a number of companies that participated in the 2000 United Way of Midland campaign. The United Way of Midland raised a record $3.01 million for its 16 partner agencies during the most recent campaign.
The meeting is open to the public. Any person who contributed to United Way of Midland in 2000 is eligible to vote in the election of officers and board members.
