First National Bank and Super Mercado Grocery Basket Race Raffle Winner to be announced on October 25
October 22, 2002 - Midland, TX As part of the First National Bank of Midland (123 N. Colorado) Company United Way Campaign, three bank officers raced down the isles of Super Mercado Thriftway (2208 N. Big Spring) on Monday, October 21, grabbing as many groceries as they could during a 3-minute period. Ken Burgess, CEO of First National Bank, proved to have the most expensive basket, with groceries totaling $450.00.
Super Mercado donated a gift certificate in the amount of the winning basket to First National Bank for a raffle contest. Raffle tickets for the $450 gift certificate from Super Mercado are $2.00 and can be purchased from any First National Bank employee or at Super Mercado Thriftway. Proceeds of the raffle benefit United Way of Midland. The winner of the raffle will be announced at First National Bank, located at 123 N. Colorado, on Friday, October 25, 2002, at 5 pm.
United Way of Midlands 2002 Campaign will end October 29, 2002. The proceeds of this campaign will benefit four basic areas in Midland; strengthening and supporting families, helping kids succeed, assisting with basic and emergency needs, and promoting health, wellness and independence.
United Way of Midland assesses the health and human service needs in Midland County and addresses those needs through the raising and distributing of funds to qualified 501(c)(3) health and human service programs. Our mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community.
