Sam’s Club to present $2,000 check to United Way of Midland
December 3, 2002 - Midland, TX – Sam’s Club (1500 Tradewinds Blvd.) will present a $2,000 check to United Way of Midland for the 2002 Campaign on Wednesday, December 4th, at 9 am at the Sam’s store. Juan Jiminez, General Manager of Sam’s, will present the check to Cynthia Y. Benson, Executive Director of United Way of Midland. The $2,000 was contributed by Sam’s corporate and local employee donations for the benefit of the Boys and Girls Club of Midland. Joining Ms. Benson will be Bill Shuey, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Midland.
“We wouldn’t be able to reach as many Midlanders through the programs we fund without the generosity and kindness of local businesses like Sam’s,” said Ms. Benson, “We appreciate their commitment to our community.”
United Way of Midland assesses the health and human service needs in Midland County and addresses those needs through the raising and distributing of funds to qualified 501(c)(3) health and human service programs. Our mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community.
