United Way of Midland to Celebrate and Annouce Total Amount Raised for 2003 Campaign at Finale Event on November 11, 2003

November 5, 2003 - Midland, TX – United Way of Midland will announce the total amount raised for the 2003 campaign at the campaign finale on Tuesday, November 11. Jim Byerlotzer, 2003 Campaign Chair, will make the announcement. The finale will take place downtown at the Midland Center, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.

Event sponsors are: ChevronTexaco, Henry Petroleum, Key Energy Services, Midland Reporter-Telegram, OXY Permian, Pecos Production Company, and Wells Fargo Bank Texas NA.

Halliburton, Weatherford, BJ Services, Schlumberger and Key Energy Services will provide the lunch menu of barbeque chicken, sausage, ribs and fried fish.

Funds raised during the 2003 Campaign will go to approved health and human service programs addressing four major impact areas: helping kids succeed, promoting health, wellness and independence, strengthening and supporting families and assisting in basic and emergency needs. Midland is currently funding 59 local programs through 23 program providers.

United Way of Midland assesses the health and human service needs in Midland County and addresses those needs through the raising and distributing of funds to qualified 501(c)(3) health and human service programs. Our mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community.
