Bush Elementary Principal to Serve as Janitor for the Day on November 21 to Thank Students for Raising Over $700 for United Way of Midland
November 20, 2003 - Midland, TX Bush Elementary (5001 Preston) Principal Jill Arthur, and Assistant Principal Jennifer Gallaway, will sweep the sidewalks, bus cafeteria tables and vacuum the halls on November 21.
Last month, the principal and assistant principal encouraged the students to fill a 5 gallon water jug with change for United Way of Midland. In return, they agreed to be janitors for the day. The students filled the jug and raised a total of $709.00. In keeping with their agreement, the principals will perform janitorial duties on the 21st.
For photo opportunities, please check-in through the main office (5001 Preston) between 11 am-1 pm and you will be escorted to the cafeteria. During this time, the principal and assistant principal will be bussing tables as the students finish their lunches. For questions, please call Ms. Holliday at Bush Elementary (689-1870).
United Way of Midland met and exceeded their campaign goal of $3 million with a total amount raised of $3,020,474. These funds will go to approved health and human service programs. United Way of Midland is currently funding 59 local programs through 23 program providers.
United Way of Midland assesses the health and human service needs in Midland County and addresses those needs through the raising and distributing of funds to qualified 501(c)(3) health and human service programs. Our mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community.
