H.E.B. to present $11,000 check to United Way of Midland on February 12th
February 9, 2004 - Midland, TX H.E.B. Unit Director, Richard Garner, will present a check for $11,000 to United Way of Midland on Thursday, February 12, at 10 am at H.E.B. (3325 W. Wadley) . Jim Byerlotzer, 2003 Campaign Director and Cynthia Y. Benson, Executive Director of United Way of Midland will accept the donation. The $11,000 is a gift from the H.E.B. Corporate Office.
During the 2003 United Way of Midland Campaign, H.E.B. employees pledged a total of $22,230 to United Way. With the additional donation from the corporate office, H.E.B.s total gift to United Way of Midland is $33,230.
These funds are invested in local programs that address needs in our community. United Way is currently funding 60 local programs that help kids succeed; strengthen and support families; assist with basic and emergency needs; and promote health, wellness and independence. United Way of Midland is a community solutions provider. We assess the health and human service needs in Midland County and address those needs through the raising and distributing of funds to qualified 501(c)(3) health and human service programs.
