City of Midland Employees to Raise Money for United Way During BBQ Lunch on August 21
August 19, 2004 - Midland, TX City of Midland Employees will hold a fundraising BBQ lunch on Saturday, August 21 at Hidalgo Park (1401 Orchard Lane corner of North Tyler St. and Orchard Lane) from 11:30 to 1:00 pm to encourage fellow employees to participate in the 2004 United Way of Midland Campaign. COM Employees are getting a head start on the campaign which officially kicks off on September 7th.
A BBQ lunch will be served to employees that turn in their United Way Pledge card with minimum pledge of $2 per pay period. Individuals not employed by City of Midland can purchase their BBQ lunch for $5 a plate. Proceeds will benefit United Way of Midland.
Texas Broke Down Band from Lubbock will perform a free concert during the fundraising lunch. City of Midland contact for this event is Carolyn Schoolcraft (685-7100).
Funds raised during the 2004 Campaign will go to approved health and human service programs. United Way of Midland is currently funding 59 local programs through 25 program providers. United Way of Midland assesses the health and human service needs in Midland County and addresses those needs through the raising and distributing of funds to qualified 501(c)(3) health and human service programs. Our mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community.
