FamilyWize Free Prescription Discount Cards are now Available Through Three of United Way of Midlands Program Providers
January 23, 2007 - Midland, TX Cindy Benson, Executive Director of United Way of Midland, announced that more than 500 free FamilyWize prescription drug discount cards to assist people with the cost of their prescription drugs are now available at three of our Program Provider locations and online at www.familywize.com.
Most pharmacies in the United States accept these prescription drug discount cards. They have no usage limits, age requirements or registration forms and the cards are valid until December 31, 2011.
These cards may be obtained from: Community & Senior Services, 3301 Sinclair; Casa de Amigos, 1101 E. Garden Lane; and Salvation Army of Midland, 300 S. Baird. People with Internet access can also print a card by visiting the website at www.familywize.com.
The cards are being distributed free of charge, courtesy of United Way of Midland, and 270 other United Way agencies around the country in 47 states, as part of a $50 million national, in-kind donation of discount prescription cards coordinated by Membership Services Corporation, located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and its industry partners. Printing for one million prescription cards was donated by another Pennsylvania company, Independent Graphics of Pittston, Pennsylvania.
"Too many American families have insufficient or no prescription drug coverage at all," said Cindy Benson, Executive Director of the United Way. "Healthcare costs are one of the top
concerns for people in our community and the FamilyWize discount prescription drug cards will help families who otherwise may not be able to afford much needed prescription drugs."
"Membership Services Corporation and its industry partners are very excited to partner with participating local United Way agencies to get the FamilyWize card into the hands of families who most need the help," said Dan Barnes, President of Membership Services Corporation. "The goal of this community service program is to deliver $50 million in prescription drug savings to people with no prescription drug coverage. These cards can reduce prescription drug costs by an average of 20 percent. Working with reputable and established charities like local United Way Program Providers is the best way to reach the people who really need to save money on prescription drugs."
Additional information about this program is available online at www.familywize.com.
