City of Midland Employees to hold Dunking Booth to benefit United Way of Midland
August 29, 2007 - Midland, TX The City of Midland Employees are helping to get the 2007 United Way of Midland geared up for a great campaign year. They have already begun their employee Pacesetter Campaign before the Community Kickoff date of September 6th.
To raise additional funds they are hosting a Dunking Booth. A schedule of the Dunkees is as follows:
- 9:30 to 10:00 Paul O'Neil Animal Services Director
- 10:00 to 10:30 Tommy Hudson Interim City Manager
- 10:30 to 11:00 Mark Phillips Director of Facilities/Fleet Management Manager
- 11:30 to 12:00 Russ Conley Fire Chief
- 12:00 to 12:30 Price Robinson Interim Chief of Police
- 1:00 to 1:30 Eric Johnson Asst. Manager Transportation
- 1:30 to 2:00 David Hunter Director of Administrative Services
More times and names will be added when individuals are confirmed.
The dunking booth will be Thursday, August 30th beginning at 9:30am on the front lawn of City Hall (300 N. Loraine). Throws are three for $5.
The Midland College Womens Softball team will be there at 10am to put their skills to the test on Interim City Manager, Tommy Hudson

Last year, city employees contributed over $17,000 for the United Way of Midland through fundraisers and employee pledges. Campaign coordinators expect to raise even more this year.
Funds raised during the 2007 Campaign will go to approved health and human service programs. United Way of Midland is currently funding 62 local programs through 25 program providers. A listing of these programs can be found at www.uwmidland.org.
United Way of Midland assesses the health and human service needs in Midland County and addresses those needs through the raising and distributing of funds to qualified 501(c)(3) health and human service programs. Our mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community.
