On June 21, thousands of people in hundreds of communities across the world volunteered with United Way to fight for the education, health and financial stability of every person in every community. Did you know that 61% of children from low income families have no books at home? United Way of Midland teamed up with several companies to host book drives. These books were then donated to UTPB: First 5 to help stock their "Little Free Libraries," Camp Fire West Texas and the Midland YMCA, for students in their summer programs. Thank you so much to all of the book drive participants and volunteers. Because of YOU, we were able to donate 5,656 books!
