2017 Guest Speaker- Sonia Manzano

We are hosting a luncheon at Midland Country Club, which will feature guest speaker Sonia Manzano. You know Sonia as “Maria” on Sesame Street, where she played a lovable mom and friend to millions of children (and puppets) for decades. Sonia won a 2016 Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award, had garnered 15 Emmys for writing children’s television scripts, and has written critically-praised books for children and young adults. Her love of children’s education and her personal history with this issue are powerful.

What is Power of the Purse?

Power of the Purse provides a collaborative forum for women of all ages who want to significantly improve the quality of life in the Midland community through leadership giving, advocacy and volunteering. It’s about joining with like-minded women to be a strong voice and make a difference in meeting needs in the community. This year’s event is benefiting United Way of Midland’s Community Impact initiative: funding for MISD Literacy Liaison staff members.

Sponsorship Opportunities:
-$1,000 Cookie Monster Sponsor- Four seats to the event.
-$2,000 Super Grover Sponsor-  One table of eight with logo display and name displayed on all event-related materials.
-$4,000 Bert & Ernie Sponsor- One table of ten with logo display, verbal recognition during event, name displayed on all event-related materials.
-$7,500 Big Bird Sponsor- Exclusive meet and greet with Sonia Manzano, two tables of eight with logo displayed, verbal recognition during event, logo displayed on all event-related materials, and autographed book.
Underwriter Opportunities:

-$2,500 Purse Underwriter- Logo/Name displayed on event-related materials. 
-$3,000 Food & Beverage Underwriter- Logo/Name dispayed on event-related materials. 
-$10,000 Speaker Underwriter- Logo/Name displayed on event-related materials. 

Individual Tickets:

-$250 Individual seat to the event.
