Shell Oil Company in Midland gave a gracious contribution to UWM to purchase 1500 STEM books for the summer reading program. A recent report describes language and literacy as the means for students to gain knowledge and interest in STEM subjects; reading STEM books “is one of the best ways for students to build literacy skills while learning STEM content and cultivating dispositions of science”.
